Celebrating A New Year

Celebrating A New Year

I took a piece of black card sized 10x20cm, my 'Fairytale' Lavinia Stamp & 3 shades of Encore Ultimate Metallic Pigment Inks, Blue, Teal & Pink. Then using ONLY the dandelion clock part of the stamp, inked & stamped one of each of my chosen colours closely together to create the effect of fireworks...

Next, using my 'Dandelions 2' stamp, inked with 2 shades of Brilliance Archival Pigment Ink Pads, Galaxy Gold & Starlite Silver, one of the dandelions to create the smaller fireworks. Then using Gelly Roll Sardust Pens, Pink, Green & Blue, plus  gold & silver metallic pens, I dotted colour around all the fireworks to create the sparks....

Next, taking a piece of torn paper, a bit of cotton wool & Distress Oxide Ink 'Iced Spruce' created my landscape/hills...also, in the centres of the fireworks, I added a small amount of Yellow Acrylic Paint using a cotton bud/Q-Tip (not pictured) to give the impression of light....

Then, taking my 'Star Gazing' stamp & Versafine Clair Ink 'Nocturne', stamped the image, then inked just the right side edges of the stamp with Distress Oxide 'Iced Spruce' and stamped again to give the illusion of the light from the fireworks shining on the fairies.  Next, using the Gelly Roll Stardust Pens again, Green & Pink, coloured in the fairies wings then highlighted all the edges with  Gelly Roll White Pen....

Using the castle was a last minute decision as I felt we needed somewhere that the firework display & celebration was coming from, so, I inked up the castle with the Distress Oxide 'Iced Spruce' & stamped it just over the edge as a background feature to complete the scene. I then added white highlights to the edges & to the windows....

With the topper now complete, glued it to a DL card...Voila!
