'Making A Lavinia Candle' (Foto Tutorial)
First collect together a medium sized candle, some tissue paper, grease proof paper, your Lavinia Stamps, Distress Oxides, Versafine Clairs, blending tools & torn paper.... Next, take your tissue paper, blending tool, torn paper & Distress Oxides (Pine Needles) & create your hills/ground by blending the ink off the edge of the torn paper onto your tissue paper... Take your Del Bello's Designs Moon Mask (size 1 5/8") & Distress Oxide (Tumbled Glass) & Blend the ink off the edge of the moon mask to create your moon... Next choose your stamps. Here, I used Star Gazing LAV266, Ducks LAV247 & Whimsical Hares Set LAV482. Stamp your images as you would like them onto your scenescape on the tissue paper...When you are happy with your scene, cut roughly around your picture & place it over your candle. If you are creating without a scenescape, just cut around your image quite close to the outline but making sure you leave a small amount of the tissue paper left white so that it blends nicely into your candle when heated with your heat gun... Then, take your piece of grease proof paper, place it over the stamped tissue paper on our candle, pull it tightly around the back of the candle, keeping it as smooth as possbile over your picture.... Turn on your heat gun, let it warm up a little, then direct the heat towards the candle (not too close) & you will see the wax begin to melt. Keep moving the gun around until you can see that all of the surface of the wax has melted & sealed the tissue paper. Remove the grease proof paper slowly from the candle, use your thumb to smooth away any excess melted wax from around the top & bottom edges of the candle & ...... ...VOILA!! Your candle is done!
