What is the difference between Comic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish versus Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish?

Metallic Gilding Polish is a water-based mica polish used to create a metallic sheen color on any porous surface. The polish can be used to add subtle highlights or, with a heavier application, achieve a solid, metallic color.

Opal Polish contains a base color polish with the addition of mica in a complementary color, achieving beautiful opalescent effects. The polish is a unique, two-toned product that interacts with the color it's applied to. When used on a light surface, you'll see the color of the polish itself. Use it on black or a dark one, and the mica becomes visible, creating a quite different look.

You can do all of the usual things with both; stencils, backgrounds or  brush it on. Both products are water-based. This allows you to stamp over the top using standard ink, as there is no wax to act as a resist.

Please note: Most of the Cosmic Shimmer products are water-based and therefore could be affected by colder temperatures. This includes time in transit. Please take this into consideration when placing your order from November - February.
