"Moonlight Rendezvous" Photo Tutorial

"Moonlight Rendezvous" Photo Tutorial

Starting supplies included:

7" x 7" Multifarious Card

6" x 6" Gel Plate

Speedball 4" Deluxe Brayer

Catherine Pooler Garden Party Premium Dye Ink Pad

Size 4 Fan Brush

Violet Brusho

Sea Green Brusho

Gamboge Brusho

Sunburst Lemon Brusho

Covered the gel plate using the brayer and Garden Party ink. Used the fan brush to flick the different Brushos over the layer of ink. Placed the Multifarious Card over top and gently rubbed to transfer the inks.

Trimmed the card to measure 5.75" x 5.75". Tore some copy paper to use for landscape. Gathered small Picket Fence Studios Blender Brush, Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink pads.

Using the torn copy paper, created rolling hilltops using the Distress Oxides and blender brushes.

Gathered Twiston Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides to do some blending.

Used smaller blender brushes to add some color to the landscape.

Using a 2.50" piece of circle acetate, a smoothie and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide, a moon was created by lightly blending outwards from the acetate to the inked background.

Using the MISTI stamping platform and Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink, the Whimsical Hares (LAV482) were stamped several times for full coverage.

Used Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide to stamp several groups of the Wild Poppies (LAV189).

Used Orange Prismacolor pencil to brighten the previously stamped poppies. Used the General's Carbon Sketch Pencil to create shadows beneath the hares. Stamped more Wild Poppies using Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink.

Used Blueprint Sketch to stamp several small Celestial Trees (LAV488s). Note that the trees were stamped via second generation stamping so they would not appear so bold. Used torn pieces of copy paper to mask the hilltops at the base of the trees.

Used Ranger's Jet Black Archival ink to stamp more of the small Celestial Trees. Again, used torn pieces of paper for masking the hilltops.

Used the Stardust Clear Gelly Roll pen to go around the moon to add some sparkle.

Went around the edge of the card, first using a smoothie and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide. Repeated using a smoothie and Black Soot Distress Oxide to add more depth to the edges.

Used the Stardust Clear Gelly Roll to add some highlights to the hares to reflect the moonlight. Used the green, orange and lilac Posca pens to create flowers in the landscape.
